Description (on bottle) – A blend of rich smooth flavours from chocolate and crystal malts, combined with a refreshing bitterness from English Fuggle hops and a dash of citrus.
Described as a ‘legendary ruby beer’ this ale certainly catches the eye in terms of its colouring. It has a really deep colour with red undertones. As referred to on the bottle it has a wide range of flavours that you may consider unlikely to compliment each other nevertheless, they do work surprisingly well. With an ALC of 5.2% it has significant weight behind the flavouring and it effortlessly slips down. The one let down was it became a bit flat but I’m sure this would be a different story out of the barrel.
